A Defining Program for 8th-12th Grade Cadets

Step into a world of extraordinary learning with Admiral Farragut Academy's distinguished Naval Science program, a cornerstone experience designed for cadets in 8th-12th grade.

As a proud United States Naval Honor school, Admiral Farragut Academy holds a revered designation bestowed by an Act of Congress. This prestigious title is reaffirmed annually by the Department of the Navy, a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.

Our Naval Science program stands as the cornerstone in our dedication to shaping future leaders. It's not just a military school education; it's a transformative journey that equips cadets with invaluable skills and insights. As cadets engage with this signature program, they immerse themselves in a world of leadership, discipline, and strategic thinking — essential qualities that pave the way for success in both military service and civilian life.

Benefits of Attending a Naval Honor School and NJROTC

Thriving NJROTC Extracurricular Programs

Our extracurricular programs, including the Drill Team, Color Guard, and Academic Teams, regularly participate in statewide competitions, earning recognition for their unwavering dedication and outstanding performance. These activities are more than just pastimes; they are dynamic avenues for building teamwork skills and personal development.

An Extraordinary Advantage in Nomination

Gaining a nomination for admission to a service academy is a significant achievement. Typically, students must secure nominations from esteemed sources such as U.S. Representatives, Senators, and even the Vice President, a process limited to a few students per state annually. In contrast, our Senior Naval Science Instructor nominates from a pool of exceptionally qualified Farragut cadets. This provides aspiring service college candidates with a unique advantage.

Unparalleled Leadership Training and Opportunities

For students chosen to serve on the Regimental Staff, our military school offers an exceptional platform for cultivating leadership skills and gaining invaluable experience. Our commitment to fostering strong leaders is at the core of our mission, and we provide an environment that nurtures growth and excellence.

Unlock Opportunities through ROTC College Scholarships

We understand the importance of higher education, and our military school empowers cadets through ROTC college scholarships. These scholarships pave the way for a brighter future, providing the means to pursue academic excellence while further honing leadership and discipline.

Which Students Participate in NJROTC?

We take great pride in fostering leadership, discipline, and excellence. To that end, all students in 8th through 12th grades are an integral part of the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Program.  As participants in NJROTC, our Upper School students proudly bear the title of “cadets.”  This immersive experience shapes well-rounded individuals, instilling leadership qualities that extend beyond the classroom.

In 6th and 7th grades, students have the exciting opportunity to embark on a journey of naval pride and tradition through optional NJROTC extracurricular activities.  This is a dynamic way for students to delve into naval tradition while nurturing a sense of identity and pride.

While kindergarten through fifth-grade students do not participate in the naval training curriculum, they are immersed in a vibrant academic journey that nurtures future leaders through intellectual growth and creativity.

We are committed to empowering students across all grade levels with enriching experiences that shape their character and illuminate their potential. Join us as we cultivate leaders, learners, and individuals who stand tall with integrity and pride.
